Back In The Studio
After a long hiatus from jewelry making, I’m joyfully back in the studio. For a time, life changed directions, jewelry was put on hold and the studio was packed away. What a pleasure it is to open my storage crates and resume my love affair with jewelry making.
I’ve missed the glow and sparkle of gemstones, the backstory of ancient stones waiting to be shaped into present day missives and the irresistible, gleam of precious metals.

The new studio is taking shape – a reconfiguration of space to incorporate work areas for all of my studio equipment. A sturdy ‘old school’ wood top drafting table has been added for additional work space and cause for celebration is the rehanging of my trusty Foredom. A necessary re-arrangement of my winter garden has been done to make room to fabricate the jeweled pieces.
I’m back in my element of creative exploration and storytelling through beautiful materials. I hope you’ll travel along with me as I reopen my studio to once again to offer art lovers – original, handcrafted art jewelry.
Welcome to the dreaming world studio – where mysteries are explored, where beauty is the desired outcome and where anything is possible…well, almost anything.
Ready – Set – Go!
I’m working!! All those visions that dance in my head are taking wing, flying into the world.
In my studio, I’m surrounded by a living green jungle. My winter garden is the tender plants that spend their summers outdoors lounging on the patio. They are brought inside before the cold weather comes round to bite them. In the summer a different array of plants keep me company. My life and art are nurtured by nature…..

This studio is where my heart lives. Happy, content, engaged in my maker space. One of a kind, piece by piece, the collections form and grow until they are ready to go their new homes. I love my job! It’s an ever evolving venture, perfectly fulfilling and I get to work with the most exquisite materials.

The Lapidary Corner

My husband and I refurbished a wonderful old workhorse – a vintage aluminum housed Highland Park E10 grinder with side mount cut and trim saw. Oh, can this baby cut rock (I broke in the new diamond sintered blade with a solid white rock quartz crystal). It cut like butter, although this particular stone is so dense and hard that the cutting was slooooow.
The grinding wheels and arbor are true. They easily grind and shape any stone I put to them. I’ll add another grinding wheel – maybe two, if we can fit them on the arbor. These old lap machines are beyond worth! I’m a huge fan of their construction and long lived durability.
My polishing station with its vacuum exhaust hood sits here, too – although the lap is moved away from polisher proximity when I grind rocks. This keeps the cloth and felt polishing wheels out of the way of cross contamination. The lidded electroforming tanks and power supply also live in this work area.
Life is so satisfying when the studio is up and running. Let the rocking of rocks commence and the making of jewelry begin!
