Herbal Alchemy

The first round of samples are ready. An herbal comfrey beeswax balm for skin care. A lovely 5 rose softener and repair cream in one small tin that has the scent of wild roses. Jewelweed spray and salve – an absolute must have in our house for the bug bites of summer and to lessen the crazy itching and skin disturbance that comes from contact with poison ivy and oak. Each of these natural herbal preparations are made from plants that I organically grow in my gardens and ethically gather from wild plants.

Measuring, mixing the various tinctures that have steeped and matured since their gathering last year is now happening. This years product line is underway.

MAKA is a season to season small batch company, with a changeable assortment of products that are freshly crafted each season. Each year brings stronger growth from some plants and slower development from others. We watch and listen to our gardens and the wild places where we gather, developing our products to match each plant’s synergies. We are in partnership with mother earth. Our close interaction with the plants directs our gathering and the making of MAKA botanical products.
